I do things that I’m afraid of. I discover that by doing this, my fear of them dissipates into nothingness. Actually, the huge monster was never so huge, its shadow was the one playing tricks on me, making it seem colossal and menacing. The more I go against my nature, the rigidity disappears and I am able to assume formlessness.

That is my ultimate achievement, me, with my ideas and my judgments. The more receptive I am to the idea that destiny exists, and fate plays a part in my actions and their consequences, the more acceptable the idea becomes that everything happens for a reason, and a good one. The hugest failures of my life, with their humiliations and heartbreak, take on a new meaning, as I learn to analyze them and learn from them. Fate is my scapegoat now, except that I don’t need to blame it, because everything is suddenly so positive.

All the nasty people that I’ve met have had an important lesson to teach me, to arm me against their clones in the future. All the embarrassing situations I’ve been in, apart from giving me strength, have taught me something infinitely useful about living life, fighting it out and winning, emerging triumphant. The more I learn to let fate take its course, the less people can hurt me, and the happier I become.
